Elder Michael D. Green, Sr. was born and raised in Hampton, VA. He is the youngest son of the late Bishop Samuel L. and Madame Vivian F. Green.

 

Elder Green accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior at the age of 16 and has been ministering to the body of Christ ever since. In his academic career, he attended Hampton Public Schools, Thomas Nelson Community College, and Deeper Life School of Theology in Hampton, VA.  

 

In 1993, at the age of 23, he officially accepted his call to ministry and has been an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ since August 1996. He is the founder of Word and Power Ministries, which is now Michael Green Ministries, established in 2001 as an evangelistic ministry geared to deliver and empower people through the preached word of God. Michael Green Ministries is a ministry purposed to “Transform lives through the revelation of God’s word”.

 

Elder Green was elevated to the office of pastor of The New St. Mark COGIC, January 2004, he and his lovely wife, Mrs. Candace Laverne Green, his childhood sweetheart, worked untiringly to empower the community to which they were assigned. Along with this union, God has graced them with a miracle child, Michael Duvall Green, Jr. Armed with faith in God, and his loving companion, Elder Green sought to Build God a House One Soul at a Time. 

 

In August 2013, Elder Green was led of the Lord to launch Rock Center Church (Chesapeake, VA).  The mission of Rock Center is to …build rock solid:  faith, singles, marriages, and families! 

 

Beyond the previously mentioned, Elder Green is also a Vice President of the International Department of Evangelism and Region 7 President of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., President of Rock Center Ministries, Chesapeake, VA and President of Michael Green Ministries (formerly Word and Power Ministries), and Vice President of Church and Community in Action (CCIA), Portsmouth, VA, Founder of The Preachers Clinic and Co-Founder with his wife Candace, of Marry Me a ministry for relationships.

 

Known for being a prophetic preacher, Elder Green has traveled across this great nation and to foreign countries around the world sharing the Word of God, with his motto, "It's Already Done!" (Rev. 21:6). He has a unique way of combining praise and worship with the ministry of the Word of God. Elder Green and Rock Center Church have seen nothing short of the miraculous works of God.
